Monthly Missions: June

June 1, 2015

Happy June! Summer is here and the pool is calling. The sun is shining and it’s a great start to these two summer months until school starts again in August. Let’s not talk about that yet.

My missions for May weren’t completely accomplished but I tried. My life has been healthier not only by drinking a lot more water than before, but I’ve made time to work out at least fifteen minutes even other day. Baby steps, right? I’ve still been meaning to try some fruity infused water! I did manage to simplify my wardrobe by donating two garbage bags of clothes and talking with my family more. I’ve yet to make a schedule for my blog, but if I’m going to write something with intention maybe it doesn’t have to be scheduled. I still have some figuring out to do about that.

For June, I hope to continue simplifying, organizing, and bringing joy into my life. I have a lot of catching up to do with friends and memories from my study abroad to share.

1. Yard sales. Augustin and I found an apartment for the fall and it’s time to find some furniture and decorations! We don’t have anything, so before he arrives in July I’d like to start piecing it together. Although I work at a home furnishes store, it’s more fun to explore what interesting items I can find and fix up. The local flea market on the weekends always has inspiring refurbished furniture.

2. With a full-time internship and a part time job, I need to set time to relax and do something that I enjoy. After I received a new book in the mail, I realized how much I like to read. I would love to dive into some great novels. I bet I could find some interesting ones at those yard sales. Any suggestions?

3. I have plenty of new ideas to add to my cookbook, as well as starting a little garden. I may have to wait to have a better patio for that, but I found some new recipes I need to try. I think I’m going to start with homemade hummus! Smitten kitchen has a pretty appealing recipe. I would also love to craft up some meatballs. And pie crust. And pizza. Well, you get the point. I have an overall mission to homemake all of my food.
